Doing something better involves gun control which half of the US opposes with all the money, votes and media support it can muster.

Biden squeaks -we must act now-...
waht is he going to do? take on the NRA at High Noon?
If he plays that right and get the NRA to order and obey his -executive order -, and play the media sharks the right way... he MIGHT even make a second term?

He might not last his first term.

More children in the US of A now die from guns than from car crashes!

    Very sad (and unnecessary!)

    Source?

And I'm guessing 10x-20x as many "children" (depends on how that word is defined) are victims of opioids in the US.

Unfortunately there are laws in the US and Biden however much he wants to be a dictator, laws don't allow him to be.

We will soon find out that the FBI has known about this kid for awhile now,

Apparently the CDC. I'm too lazy to trawl through all their reports to give you the direct link, but this article from the New England Journal of Medicine offers a useful summary: https://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMc2201761

There are a number of issues at play here. Those that blame guns the, selves ALWAYS forget or dismiss the fact that guns require a human will to pull a trigger.

But the issue that seems of utmost importance here is not that people kill people (they always have), that they kill chill children (many here are totally OK with abortion, though that can be SHOWN to be the murder of a living child), or that they kill in the plural (5 or more people at once, to take a number that would begin to draw more attention).

It is clearly of benefit to people seeking to impose tyranny to remove any possibility of the people defending themselves by force. Thus, it is clearly of benefit to THEM that things like school shootings happen often enough to use as a reason to treat citizens as incapable of handling deadly force (though the government, of course, will continue to do so).

These "mass shootings" happen almost every day in Chicago but it doesn't make the news, so too not making the news much is a raise in crime, drug overdose deaths, children's suicide, suicide in general, homelessness. There are rumblings of civil war.

This is another subject I've debated in various ways until my fingers got sore. It never made a single dent in the thinking of those who think gun control for the United States does not make sense. I was tempted to give it another go but thought better of it. Along with debating religion, it will get us nowhere.

Meanwhile, I am glad I live in a country that does have gun control. It's not a panacea but the US needs it, badly.
