    English-language TV broadcasts in Moscow

    Option 1 (out of many)
    Provider: Megafon, Moscow
    Tariff: Объединяй эконом

Question: Do they broadcast BBC World as it is or in Russian translation?
(I did contact them directly but they couldnít answer the simple question).

P.S. Iíd love to switch my Moscow TV and ISP provider. Availability of BBC world/ CNN (without translation), or Deutsche Welle/ TV5 Monde (with translation) is of crucial importance to me. If you know of any subscription plans by Moscow-based providers that include the said TV channels, please, advise.

    Do people still watch tv?

If you have internet, can't you just go to the website and click watch live?

Or you can download the pluto tv app. It has tons of free channels

Thank you,xp@, but I had a pretty bad experience with Rostelecom in around 2014. They failed to provide a stable connection back then. So I’ve blacklisted them. (And I am in the same block and apartment now). Do you think they have improved since then?

Could the problem have been with your router? My connection has been excellent for 6-7 years. Went down one time after a lightning storm, and was quickly restored.

i wonder indeed why bother watching TV? and PAY through the noise just to have a -foreign - language channel included in any plan. EVERY broadcaster, from around the world has a - mediathek- where you can watch TV. - geoblocking - or some - legal restrainments - can keep one from watching some films.

fair enough, we live in Moscow. And every provider, might that MTGS, Beeline,or whoever have those newfangled high mast springing up all over the place. but if it makes for faster Internet, so be it.

I subscribe to NTV+ which offers English (i.e. when it is the original broadcast language) for BBC World News, CNN, TV5 and RT, but strangely not for Euronews. It also broadcasts a number of documentary channels from National Geographic and Discovery in English. You have to set up your tv to use English as first choice. There is an online offer as well as regular satellite.

It could be her phone line. MTS has TV too but many years ago it used the telephone line and if it wasn't good in your building you were out of luck.

most of the time it is indeed always the last 100 m. the same with clean water. one has a new waterworks, new pumps, new thick pipes. and then the clean water comes into an -ancient - building were there might be even still copper tubes or god forbid, old lead pipes...
