    Test for covid 19

    Hi all.
I have a TRP and will be returning to Russia via British Airways in October. Ive heard that to enter Russia now passengers require a free of virus certificate PCR. Can anybody tell me if i need this as my wife has a Russian passport and i have the 3 year residency permit in Russia. Ive heard that in uk the test could cost around £250 whereas in Russia iam sure it would be a lot cheaper. Or does this just apply to tourist/ private visa holders etc.
    Thanks in advance. Dave.

    Check the requirements here: https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-ad...y-requirements

It seems that you can get the test done at the airport on arrival but it doesn’t say how much it will cost. Perhaps the airport website will give more details. However, it will also depend on the airline’s specific requirements: they may insist on you having the certificate before you board. Check with BA.

You will have to show the test when you go to check in.

Hi thanks for your replies. Just found this info.

Domodedovo Airport conducts coronavirus testing in 15 minutes
    19:05 , 24 April 2020
Until recently, the coronavirus test could only be taken in a few laboratories. Now residents of the Moscow region have a new opportunity to be tested for coronavirus. Passengers and ordinary residents of Domodedovo can take a test at the airport medical center. You do not need to sign up in advance. They accept people on weekdays from 09.00 to 18.00.

    - For the test we invite adults who do not have ARVI symptoms: cough, sore throat, fever, - the press service of the airport explains. “Everything takes a quarter of an hour. Before taking samples, we ask whether the person has recently been abroad or has had contact with those who came from countries with an unfavorable epidemiological situation. We measure the temperature.
To take the test, you need to come with a passport and have 2,500 rubles with you. The doctor will take nasal and pharyngeal swabs to do a polymerase chain reaction test. You should not eat, drink, brush your teeth or chew gum 3-4 hours before the test. You should also refrain from smoking.

The result can be obtained within three to five days by e-mail or on paper with a second personal visit to the medical office. Research is carried out in a third-party laboratory, so the time for obtaining results depends on the demand for the service.

The airport reminds that, in accordance with the order of the Chief State Sanitary Doctor, if the test is positive, the data will be sent to Rospotrebnadzor.

Now in Moscow and the region there is an opportunity to take the test also at home: through Yandex services or through Rospotrebnadzor. The cost of the analysis ranges from 1500 to 3000 rubles.

    - Free testing for COVID-19 is carried out only in a few cases: during hospitalization, as well as if a person has visited countries unfavorable for coronavirus in the last two weeks, if he has been in contact with returnees or those who have confirmed COVID-19, the Ministry of Health notes Moscow region. - The need for testing is determined by the doctor. At the same time, a person does not need to go to the hospital, the medical staff will come to take the analysis themselves.

As a Russian citizen, your wife can get a test within 72 hours of arrival. She then needs to register the result on the Gosuslugi site. Testing at the airport on arrival costs 2,750 roubles and you get the result within an hour. As a foreigner, you need to have a test with you and you may even need it to board in UK (that's up to the airline). There has been discussion in the Moscow Expats Facebook group about some people with NHS test certificates being asked to test again on arrival, although most seem not to have had that experience. However, bear in mind that all of this may have changed by October! Limited scheduled flights only began running on 1 August and the possible immunological effect of people travelling here again will only begin to be seen towards the end of the month.
