Sure, makes sense. Every 5 years there is a crisis. So rub loses value. People either buy USD/eur/whatever or rush to spend it before it dips.

For instance, several people I know just bought cars or all new appliances or even a flat, this last weekend because rub will lose value going forward. And really, in about 4 months, when us finally stood supporting price of oil.

no. oil is stabilised because trump is buying oil to refill americas strategic oil reserves.

There are a number of things to look for going forward - the worldwide slowdown of commerce, thus reducing energy needs, and a massive output war with saudi arabia to drive american shale producers out of the biz. this war can be averted, since the agreements can really be undone at any time. but the slowdown of the world economies can't be undone. The massive decoupling is coming and it will take 3-5 years or more to get out of and to start to begin the next cycle. of course, during this time, electric cars n energy will also be advancing, so maybe that's the end for gas powered cars. plus they stopped designing them due to regulations i think already last year. and the last year of production should be in maybe 10 years. anyways, my big hope is that the next boom comes, which would be astroid mining or space travel or moon mining or something like that.

that's because the supply chain hasn't been exhausted yet. people are still selling off old stock. but u can do the math yourself.

ruble was around 60x for awhile. now its near 80 and only going up. so, when people finally go to import things, how much do you think it will cost? and what will they sell it for? and how many people are actually going to have jobs in 3-6 months?

the only jobs that work are somehow connected to a major corporation or are pure internet plays. any kind of online shop is done. I'm not sure even dating type sites will survive. or maybe they will cuz people need some illusion of connection or possible sex.

man, if you are asking if you should buy the rub, then in the short term, maybe. who knows what will happen day to day. its casino. you might win a few pips, but u might lose a lot more. but if you are asking the long term trend, then yeah, go against it, cuz not much is supporting it. and of course, the big kicker is that oil supports russia. oil is sold in dollars, but reported in rub. so, its great if the dollar gets stronger, while the rub weakens. this also helps central guv, cuz they give, while others receive.

but, who knows. these days, anything is possible. we are talking about soldiers in moscow imposing martial law on its own populace against a virus that really hasn't killed off very many people. strange days.

Less and less is being imported. Things like smart phones will be going up so it's a good time to buy a new one but food should be safe. China will start producing soon and the price of oil will go back up and so the ruble.

Smoking it? When I was in the hospital (my car was attacked by a tree), they have it hooked up to an IV. You press the button when you want another dose of opium. After a while nothing happened when I pressed the button. I asked the nurse, "Hey, it's broken." But she said it only gives a dose every 4 hours...
Have we reached the ultimate stage of absurdity where some people are held responsible for things that happened before they were born, while other people are not held responsible for what they themselves are doing today?

THAT is a statement that makes sense to me.
and with that 1 million ruble deposit in the bank,i believe that. Russians buy more tangible things as soon as they have extra money. might that be a piece of land, a dacha, an apartment. or a new big SUV. or they keep it STILL in the -bank - under the bed...
There is no greater treasure then pleasure....
