Some cities shorten the time of yellow lights and put up cameras to collect more fines. This also causes more accidents.
DC has those cameras everywhere inside the city. Especially for not coming to a complete stop at a Stop sign.

"Over one million speed camera tickets that generated over $100 million in total revenue were issued during Washington, D.C.'s 2017 fiscal year according to a report by AAA Mid-Atlantic.

The report says that the District issued 1,079,878 (tickets) and collected $103,948,666 in fines between October 1, 2016 and September 30, 2017. Those figures set records for D.C. in those categories. AAA says the city is on pace to break that record for fiscal year 2018 which ends on September 30, 2018."

The greedy bureaucrats here in Kansas have this thing called a "diversion." ?? For example, I got a speeding ticket, and the fine would have been $85. But if you apply for a "diversion," the District Attorney (99% of the time) approves it. Then you pay 2x the fine (plus court costs) and the ticket does not go on your record (so your insurance rates do not increase). So I paid $270 and got the diversion. Everyone does.

I was responding to your reasonable complaint against "experts" in justice. Have you taken the six or so minutes to read the essay on that?

Yes, very interesting. Me and my Long Island friend used to joke about starting a new discipline of science. We would call it "Fortscanism" or whatever. We would write a book about it, and offer some university people seats on a distinguished panel, a board of experts in the discipline. The textbook would describe why studying Fortscanning was necessary and teach the techniques. We could make money off the sale of books about Fortscanning and offer classes in how to become proficient in Fortscanning, hold expensive seminars, etc.

It seems to be "experts" are scamming the public taxpayer at the university across the disciplines of sociology and psychology - "experts" in African-American, Latino, Asian, Women's, Homosexual, Transgender "Studies," a plethora of "social programs" and on and on an on... all of them totally useless to a functioning society which values the individual, not his physical characteristics.

May be because China does not declare the correct numbers?

In fact, we probably do not even know the correct number of prisons operating in China................

And in China, the government tracks you on the internet, even gives you a score for your "social worth" - your value to society. You are constantly in sort of a "virtual" prison.

Also the "experts" on how to enjoy your Thanksgiving Day holiday, and the experts to tell you how to take care of your dog or cat. Also the feds are now advertising on the radio, not only on how to cook pasta (Don't eat old food! Don't let the stove catch on fire!), but on "How to be a Dad" and even "How to visit the Forest". The next step is to criminalize any deviation from their "expert" guidance.

Are you by anyway inferring that other countries, including Western so called democracies, do not also track 'you' on the internet and allocate a range of scores?

If we look back on history then it is full of cases where the so called intelligence, what ever name they may have in your country, had acted exactly like this, tracking people and recorded their activity's, even when there had been a clear law that forbid this kind of doing, but intelligence services is a state in the state and often act on their own against what ever law there may be, "The security of the country is so important that we are raised above something as petty as laws and constitutions".

Wally, does it mean the dollar will finally collapse and the Russian ruble will become #1 currency? Down below is the GDP for 2018, by country... Супердержава (superpower) indicates the RF share...

The biggest threat comes from within.

The most bullshit comes from those who have a monetary interest foreign policy.

Hey I heard GKC quoted on one of the talk shows yesterday, "If men will not be governed by the Ten Commandments, they shall be governed by the ten thousand commandments.” Referring to giant octopus of government bureaucracy in Washington and associated laws, statutes and regulations.

A new civil war or American revolution is maybe the only thing that can save the world.
