Did Soviet spacecraft have "USSR" in addition to "СССР"?

    According to Hollywood, they did:

    my opinion: They didn't.

and why should they indeed. though there is one letter missing. this is the way -we - used the German language Version. UdSSR. Union der Sozialistischen Soviet Republiken. Now for what reason should the CCCP use that? i think these USSR was just - artistic license-.

Not always the case, but there were exceptions!

Ar one time I had an old model set with Soviet Union-era rockets, and a couple of the rockets had decals with "почта СССР" on them. Is this true, or do I have a bad memory?

The USSR was just sending rockets into space to accelerate their mail delivery system?

Are they not ballistic missiles, as opposed to space rockets?

These guys have it wrong, too. The Vanguard (the thin one on the left with the long red top) was a
"space rocket" more than a "missile" but three times they tried to put the first US satellite in orbit, and 3x it blew up on the launch pad...

The administration wanted the Navy's Vanguard to put the US satellite in orbit because it was a "peaceful" looking rocket. Finally the Army pushed them aside and used their Jupiter C (I think it's the one 4th from the right, smaller than the regular Jupiter) to finally get their own Sputnik aloft.
