    Eye specialist - Glaucoma

    Hi everyone,

Can anyone here suggest an eye specialist who can test and monitor for glaucoma? I have family history of it, and last year in Australia I had an eye test and was told that the pressure in my eyes was a bit elevated. And now, I'm experiencing other symptoms which apparently could indicate the beginning of glaucoma.

I can't afford the European Medical Centre (or the American one), after I recently gave them over 60 000 roubles to have 3 moles cut off my back :-( So I'd like a reliable and qualified Russian eye specialist. I'm a poor English teacher who doesn't have private students paying huge amounts for lessons, and I don't have medical insurance. My Russian language skills are quite basic but I'll manage, I'm sure.

Any recommendations, personal or otherwise, are most appreciated. I'm starting to worry a bit and hope to get this dealt with as soon as possible.

    Thanks in advance.

    Cherie

Well, on my experience, not that bad ophtalmologists are in Bud' zdorov clinics, owned by Ingosstrakh https://klinikabudzdorov.ru/moscow/ - Sretenka, Posledny per., entrance from Bol. Golovin per. They have good equipment, do checks fast and accurate, and they're careful and attentive. At least it was so for my myopia.
Other their locations are at m. Frunzenskaya (MDM building) and near Savelovsky railway terminal.

60 kilorub for 3 moles? Seems you're wealthy guy indeed.
I paid ca 4500 or 5000 for 6 pcs in http://clinica-ideal.ru 2 mo ago, m. Serpuhovskaya, for laser cutoff.
But it depends on size, location (mine ones also were on the back) and need to do hystological probes after removal (are they suspicious in oncological sense, or not). They have got 2 doctors, Stepakov and Tarba, both are good, and Julia, nurse/medical sista, assisting them both.

No ideas about their English though.

You could try the Eye Microsurgery Institute, which was founded by Dr. Svyatoslav Fedorov, the famous Russian eye surgeon. http://www.mntk.ru/patients/english/...ing-procedure/

Thank you very much for the info, I'll check them all out. European Medical Centre charge in Euros, converted to roubles (can't pay in Euros, it's only for calculation) - so I was the big loser. Next time I'll try your guys. Thanks again for replying, I really appreciate it. :-)

Many thanks for that, I'll take a look at them (while I've still got my eyesight!! - not really funny, but it is :-) )
