Austrian Army officer, now retired, had spied 20 years for the Russians

    https://www.kleinezeitung.at/politik...dass-jemand-so

though an interesting statement from our Kindersurprise Kanzler Kurz

-spying is unacceptable -, well if he says so.
    the next sentence-
-we are also spying-. ( in the Balkans for instance).
ah so, -we- can, but - they- not. what double standard is that?
and apparently the Officer had spied 20 years and it was never detected? sloppy work from the -anti-spy- geeks?
There is no greater treasure then pleasure....

Given Austria's publicised friendly, less aggressive stance towards the RF, I am quite sure that Austria's neighbours and friends are also spying on Austria's political elite to determine the level and depth of discussions / communications between Vienna & Moscow................

of course, everyone is spying on everyone.and on top of all of them is the NSA...anyone who has illusions about that, should wake up. though one never should be found out, THAT is the situation.
But I am now quite sure about the timing. At the moment in Austria, there is a big scandal going on within the spy ministry. From blackmail, coercion to sex, videos, no movie writer could have done better. so these -relevation- comes just at the right time. quite a few heads can now roll, conviniently and quietly. and the scandal will be brushed under the carpet. business as usual.

There are also major re-organisations and significant restructuring occurring in Moscow after a couple of recent well publicised GRU faux pas!

it was apparently the Brits who told the Austrians about the fly in their soup. and when one reads between the lines in the Austrian newspapers, this was done only to expose the Russian fly and to embarrass (sp?) VV. He is on a EU visit, but these little things o nthe side did nothing to not to make -business as, nearly, usual-.

interesting article. The last paragraph, if that is true, no wonder no one defects from there. Most defectors or squealers come from the FSB.

Hardly surprising when the FSB is the largest of the RF's Intelligence & Security organisations.......
