I was listening on the radio yesterday, Business FM, that is, and every speaker there was advising selling $$$. Though they also said by rubles. fair enough I suppose. I prefer the EURO, for the simple reason, going back for a vacation with that money I can pay all over Europe. Swiss francs i would have to change once more.

that is because if they say to buy dollars, they are pro-american and anti-russian, which means they get a knock on the door.

also, and its prob a small side biz, if you sell dollars and buy something else, the banks get a commission, or, and i just had this idea, if you sell dollars and buy something else, the bank increases its stock of dollars, thus giving it a nice balance sheet/reserves when the rub spikes 100.

The declarations of VTB is about USD on bank accounts, not global USD. There is no risk for USD cash. Oh and I remember last time some high economist recommended to sell USD, rate was at 35 rub... Experts, as they say... Should there be a new global crisis, all currencies will be affected. If you have money, buy real estate, usual 2 room apartments in a good area, and rent them. Register like ИП to pay only 6% taxes, and enjoy!
