Yes now I can go into the center again. But be warn, Putin is going to allow all that had a "Fan ID" visa free entry to Russia for the rest of the year! How diabolical!

Yesterday, on the last day of World Cup, I took my girls (youngest being four and a half) to Manezhnaya Ploschad, by metro, around 3 pm (so 3 hours before the final!) No issues whatsoever, lots of friendly people (sadly, the vast majority being Croatians - the French either weren't wearing their flag or were not there!), only issue was you couldn't easily get to Nikolskaya (so we didn't bother) from Manezhka because of security (long lines!), nor could one easily get a photo with Zabivaka (long line!) Metro wasn't at all crowded, slightly worse at 5 pm but we still got seats no problem!

And yeah, I had also dreaded the World Cup, but I'm happy to say that my family have experienced no inconvenience whatsoever!

Massive congrats to France - great game, a well-deserved win! My brother and his wife were enjoying the party in Nice last night, lucky bastardos!

P.S. What the heck was the deal with Putin having been the only one under an umbrella for minutes, while the Croatian lady got soaking wet before she was offered one!
Go where you are celebrated not tolerated.
