RL, I bet if you look around, the only inflation is in cigarettes. The Central Bank President is afraid to lower rates because of inflation fears -> maybe she's a Marlboro Girl.
It's just cigs that have gone up that much, , food stuff are at an all time low.
Putin should put a minimum price of 200ru a pkt of cigs, this will give a boost to Russia's demographic in five ,ten years time,

tobacco use also plummeted by more than a fifth between 2009 and 2016, down to 30 per cent of Russians smoking according to the most recent Global Adult Tobacco Survey.

Omg. Food prices continue to rise. Just save your reciepts. Also, there is a fair amount of trickery going on here. Many cans of beer are no longer .5, but are .45 or .4. Etc sure, its the same price, u just get less.

That for sure would trigger riots!

We just had a makeover in a local supermarket and their food prices seem like half what the old store was. Everybody is now shopping there. Ukraine and Russia are exporting grains, even India and China are self-sufficient in rice. Instead of the global famine and shortages predicated by the social scientists decades ago, there is now an overabundance of foodstuffs.

I don't understand why the price for a gallon of gas is still $2.39, same as it was last year when the price of oil was at $45/barrel, not $70.

I suggested to my farmer friend near Krasnofimsk that she raise turkeys, back when they were super-expensive. I paid $80 for a scrawny bird one Thanksgiving. I suppose now they are cheap as chicken?

Also, the candy bar always seems to get smaller...well, it has more paper, more shiny wrapping, but inside is less...

I gave up smoking, so should you.
There is a saying in Russian - Не говори мне, что делать, и я не скажу тебе, куда тебе пойти.

Btw, was there that collapse today, like you predicted?
Seek for the answer in the pertaining thread... Briefly - Sber down by 6% today - a crypto-like dump that continues unabated, but will there be a pump? I doubt it... Anyway, you can prove to me (but mainly to yourself) that your opinion has any value - go buy some Sberbank shares tomorrow. In a month or two you will have a double pleasure - you will prove to me I was wrong and you will have extra cash on your hands as a remuneration for your smart and valuable opinions.

Judge is concerned for your health...

In Scientology they say "Don't do unto others as you would not have them do unto you..."

Crypto's are down? Ripple is holding steady at its "new normal" - 65c.

My health is just fine, nicotine in moderate doses helps develop the brain and even prevents Alzheimer's. Let Judge worry about his own health. I am not saying the cryptos are down (it depends how you look at it though, they are certainly down from the last 800+ bln. cap), I am saying Sber is behaving like a crypto on a dump. Well, Trump has said today he is not going to sign another package of sanctions for now, so Putin's RF has gotten a second chance. I don't think it will be used wisely though, Trump is wasting his and our time.

Shares aren't my thing, I don't have the extra rubles to gamble with, I'm just a humble man trying to make ends meet, seriously
If I had the money I'd invest in a hedge fund here, why go up against the professionals, let them do the work, they know what's best...

Regarding smoking, just trying to help, You'll feel much better, plus will save some money, imagine the money saved can be spent on CC.

I'll share some advice with you too, don't just shop at Azbuka Vkusa, lots of other places that have daily discounts on, plus, buy two get one free deals.
Example, at dixy, frozen pizza usually at 249, had 50% off, pkt peanuts buy 2,get one free, Hoegaarden last week was 49ru, I could go on, just need to do a bit of smart shopping.

Right... No action then. Ok, I take it as an honest admission of utter failure to act upon one's own words and conclusions. If you really believed in what you are saying you would find both the money (borrowed a modest sum from a bank, for instance, if you don't have free cash) and the "professionals" - though even a teenager can figure out how to buy shares these days.
On the CC thread I meant what I was saying and I acted upon my words. Next time maybe before saying something think about whether you would be willing to back up your claims with cash and/or other type of action. Otherwise it is just shallow and lamentable kvas rhetorics. How do you even plan to see putinism beat the West with such a lax attitude? They will have you for dinner and won't even belch. By "you" I don't mean you personally of course.

Borrow money at the sky-high interest rates, no thank you, just what am I supposed to have believed in? The Russian stock market? I never said that, I'm just saying there wasn't a crash, collapse, like you are implying.
I'm glad I didn't get into CC, that was just riding the wave when it was high, besides, It's illegal to buy and sell CC in Russia, and a bit of a hassle to set up.

Sure, anyone can start trading, but to really be a winner you got to invest more than just money, you need to spend time, studying stock, etc, that's why best leave it to professionals, let them study trends, analysing, etc.

What's the matter with these people? Treasury announced its own sanctions last week, now Nicki Haley annouces her own new sanctions, NATO is out of control... Trump is finally getting a grip on the reins - "whoa!" to the crazy Deep State horses pulling the stagecoach...

Borrow money, then go to the Stock Market casino? Might as well just give your money to the security guard at the door, then at least you'll have the rest of the day to do something productive.

Our favorite media outlet has an analysis of the Russian stock market gyrations - "too much sellin' goin' on - and not enough buyin' "

I just pulled 150k rub off my cc for %2 charge and 100 day interest free payback period. My guess is that there are more reasons for the rub to go up than down. Now to find the best exchange rate. It isnt much, but the last time i did this was when the rub slid from 36 to 60x. I paid it back and bought some land outside Moscow.
