    Setting up simple bank account

    Hi everyone!

I'm a dual citizen of Russia/USA... I've been living in Moscow for a year and a few months now. And I have a 'времменая регистрация' and a заграничный passport (I want a Внутренный passport eventually). Anway, can I set up a personal bank account in Russia and how should i do this?? Anyway advice would be greaty appreciated 😃

Just go to any bank and do it, together with your passport and registration!

    Das ist KAPITALIZOM!

Sometimes even easier, your employer does everything for you (зарплатная карта + карточный счёт) for the beginning, then you come to their office (which is used by employer) and extend services.

and since you are from the USA you might use one of your own... maybe you still have a bank account back home. might come useful one day.
    https://www.citibank.ru/russia/branc...anches_msk.htm

if for any reason you do not like it i suggest go for
    www.raiffeisen.ru
you see it also can be changed to english language. and with Raiffeisen connect, you can do all your internet banking. pay your internet, phone, utilities and what not. and they have offices and ATM-s on every corner....

Wow, thank you for the advice and information Benedikt! I'll talk with my company about helping me set a bank account. The main thing, is that I do need to do internet banking and be able to move my money between my American bank account and my new bank account here in Russia. I'll look into both citibank and Raiffeisen 💪

internet banking is not so much about moving money around. which of course is also important. but for ME not the main factor. you can pay your handy, your internet account, Raiffeisen connect also lets you pay your bills that come up from home like water, gas, electricity and the likes.

Ah Benedikt question for you please. I just went to Raiffeisen Bank to try to open a bank account and due to my dual citizenship and only having an International Russian passport at this point... The bank will only accept an Internal Russian Passport... Is this normal? And what should I do from here?? Thank you!!
