    two marriage questions

    1. Can you marry while in Russia on a business visa?

    2. Do you have to marry in the city your future wife is listed as living in?

    1. You can marry on any visa
    2. You can marry in any city, no registration in that city required. Except of course for cities that are closed for foreigners.

    Info as of July 2014 year when we got married.

    Even back in 2001 we could marry in any city we wished. The only "registration" was for ZAGS on the marriage certificate.

    But don't forget, foreigners can get married in Moscow only at the ZAGS at Butirsky Val. and no, they do not do the ceremony in a foreign language, and they don't ask if you understand everything, or ANYTHING.....they do it Russian language only. so be careful when replying..... on the other hand, a simple =da= will do when you might be to slow answering. your wife will give you a kick in the shins to remind you...

    ....and the lady performing the ceremony has a pointer stick and will whack your knuckles, if you don't sign in the right spot.
