    usual practice about raising prices?

Out of curiosity, how do students usually respond when you decide to increase your fees? Any tips/ideas on that matter?
    Thanks.

I have some long term students that I'm waiting for them to die so I can replace them with higher paying students. Even when I get a returning student I can't bring myself to charge them more than I did before.
Basically I think I'm a good teacher and a bad business man.

nearly all of my students take either july or august off----- and I usually stop for 2 weeks in august, upon their return I usually put my price up by 50 rubles an hour, not much but its something, and 3 of my students who have been coming for years dont mind at all now

but yes its hard to increase your fees with newer students------ 1 thing I have started to do, is to tell the new ones that-----thats my rate up until the end of August and from september my fee will be 10% more, so they already know

But I must admit even following my own advice is difficult sometimes
