For years I told myself I couldn't just CHOOSE to believe, like "pressing a belief button or something". I thought I needed some kind of proof, like many here have said. Until I discovered that you can ALWAYS choose.

Galina, I saw the film "City of Angels" a long time ago and liked it, but I didn't realise until I saw your clip that Meg Ryan ran into the truck on her bicycle because she wasn't watching where she was going! The moment is horrifying in any case (I agree that it's an important part of Nicholas Cage's education on what it means to be human) but that puts a different spin on things.
You may be aware that "City of Angels" was the Hollywood version of "Wings of Desire", with all the advantages and disadvantages of Hollywood. I loved both films ("Wings of Desire" is one of the most original films I have ever seen), but I would love to see a third film incorporating the best elements of both films.

Thanks Galina. For me, Kononov was the best of Russia.
Rus, I'm amused by your new strategy to educate the masses...
If you choose to read it that way, there's not much I can do about it.
I see it as trying to share a major discovery in my life of an objectively true thing - that one CAN choose to believe, in spite of evidence - often circumstantial - to the contrary - be it in the innocence of a friend accused of a crime or the Resurrection of Christ.
If you see a house on fire and try to warn the residents, are you guilty of trying to "educate" them? In a sense you are, perhaps - but only in a way that anyone would WANT to be educated.
