    What does it mean?

    Who knows why are people in England ( I can see it on TV) wearing badge ( or emblem) with something red and green ( like an apple) on their jackets? What is it? And why are they wearing it now?

    [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Remembrance_Day"]Remembrance Day - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia[/ame]

    The red remembrance poppy has become a familiar emblem of Remembrance Day due to the poem "In Flanders Fields". These poppies bloomed across some of the worst battlefields of Flanders in World War I, their brilliant red colour an appropriate symbol for the blood spilled in the war.

    The same is done in the US by Veterans in the American Legion & Veterans of Foreign Wars. Usually @ $1 donation for a 'poppy'.

    Poppies are worn in Canada too, and probably the rest of the commonwealth nations.

    Too bad you are not in USA. Holiday on Monday

    I keep a copy of DD214 (American military discharge) on me at all times so "they" can't take me again

    I got a bottle of this Russian Standard vodka. It's not as good as Polish vodka.

    We had our long weekend last weekend. Keep that DD214 wrapped in bubble wrap and waterproof it to boot.

    Russky Standard does banking too. http://www.rsb.ru/ So if someone says do you keep your wealth in a банк or a банка, you can say both.
