Anyone know if there is a calendar of running events in Moscow for 2012?

Do you mean a kind of marathon?
10km or similar would be great as a start - full marathons a bit far for me!
29 Apr MIR marathon (plus 5 and 10 km, non-competetive):

I haven't found any lists, but there is a 5k and 10k on May 26th in Moscow. It's on downsideup.org. If you click around they have an English page.
(sorry I can't post any clickable links yet for some reason!)
The Moscow Hash Every Sunday!
There's a big charitable running event in Luzhniki on May 20: http://runinfinity.com/race/moscow-marathon-luzhniki
They have regural free trainings for the participants, too. All info can be found here but unfortunately only in Russian: http://www.facebook.com/events/277766238967138/
Nike has a fun run some time in the summer.
As far as I know it's not until autumn: last year Nike Run Moscow took place on September 17.
By the way, here's information about another free running club organized by Gorky Park together with Nike: http://www.the-village.ru/village/ci...a-begovoy-klub (again unfortunately only in Russian).
Ladies and gents boys and girls, this is the master calendar-

There are also links to stuff in the neighboring countries. It's in Russian, but I guess maybe google translate might pick it up? Luzhniki Marathon is not a charity event. It's put on by Club Luzhniki. Luzhniki also puts on the summer race series that includes the half in June, 15k in Aug, and 6k in Sept. The club is one of the oldest in Moscow and is made up of mostly serious runners. We don't have organized training per se, but we do have access to the track to use for training. (where you will find me a couple few times a week late morning) I'd like to do it this yr, but it's doubtful because my legs are still recovering from 100K Worlds 2 weeks ago. I still have 2 speeds at the moment and they are slow and slower as my speed is still in the toilet. Plus, it's usually hota$$ hell for this race. I have either done this one or Riga as my spring marathon, but Riga is a no go for sure this yr- not wasting $ on a trip when my legs are not up to racing at 100% in order to bring home a paycheck. Once I recover, I'll do commercial stuff in the Baltics Aug-Sept. Then off to the US Oct Nov for commercial stuff there.
Note- if you do Luzhniki, you'd better have crew!!!!!!
as for the NB 5k 10k the 26th- good race and well organized. I give it a thumbs up!
If you are a track junkie there is this-
http://mosathletics.ru/
Note- for most of these meets you should be ПЕРВЫЙ РАЗРЯД or higher. I jump into some of them from time to time for speedwork but again here's the qualifying times for most of the adult meets:
women-

men
http://kocmap.ru/category/2005-2008m.htm
It's ok to qualify at a longer distance than the one you race-for ex- it's ok to be KMC in the marathon but race in the 5000 at the track meet (well yeah 1or 2 разряд kind of like minimum tho) and vise versa.
Upf!
Thank you very much for the great info, and wish you new victories and achievements!
The thread is stuck.

I will definitely run even on my post 50k sleepy legs as I need to at the very least hold my spot in the cup standings where I'm comfortably in 3rd.
Wow! Thanks for all of the info![]()
heads up a bunch of bureaucratic pondscum shoved the race director of the Luzhniki series races and marathon aside after he put on great events for 16 yrs and the marathon and summer cup is now no more. I and many others are disgusted by the whole situation. I will be going to Latvia for most of my QUALITY races now since at least there they still know how to do things right. Yes, that's right, all of the premier summer races in Moscow have been cancelled. major major boo hiss suck. There are still a few MickeyMouse events left but not very appealing to serious runners.
