It is your weak imperialistic shots. Our cool proletary ones are exactly 100 ml minimum (sotochka).

I have three perfumes - each 300 mg. If I want to take all the three perfumes, will they allow?

Call SVO security and ask. But 300 mg with water and spiritus solutions is less than 1 ml - nothing to speak about.

Nice post Andy, have you ever thought of writing a book about Moscow?

Well...you should! I am sure many will find your style both peculiar and fun!

http://itar-tass.com/ekonomika/1087206 - Rosaviatsia lifts liquids-in-a-hand-luggage ban for all RF airports since 2nd Apr.

It was introduced as an additional security measure for Sochi Olympics + ParaOlympics time period.

Hey all, so I'm flying back to the States to visit for a week on the 31st, and my flight leaves at 9:25 AM. I was wondering if I should really panic about cutting it too close to check in and all that, given I'm coming from the NW of Moscow.

Flights to US are checked more thoroughly sometimes, depending on air company policies. Call to their rep office (better that in SVO, if any) and ask about time limits. I don't think you'll have problems, as Mitino has rokade ways from Pyatnichka to Himki, Kurkino and Leningradka, plus you'll go out, vs in-stream from suburbs.

Awesome, thanks. I think I'm more paranoid about the Russian service industry and, in the worse case, shell out more cash to rebook than anything.

After my trip to the Czech Republic nearly two summers ago, I've learned that sh*t happens and that you can relax once you're on the plane and in the air (long story about that). That, and I'm generally paranoid about getting to airports on time.

Catch the 7 am express train and you'll be there on time, the metro opens at 5.30 am
