    Nice summer drinks

    Water melon melody

I made a nice non alcohol drink today of water melon, orange juice, cut peach and cherry juice. Put it in the blender and mix it. COOL and refreshing.

Any other nice refreshing summer drink recipes from expat people?

Like this topic. I can contribute one, not invented by me, but from my favorite smoothies and juices book:

    SUMMER & CITRUS FRUIT PUNCH

    1. Pour the orange juice, lime juic and sparkling water into a food processor and process gently until combined.

    2. Add the summer fruits and ice cubes and process until a slushy consistency has been reached.

    3. Pour the mixture into glasses, decorate with whole raspberries, blackberries on toothpicks, and serve.

Please try and let me know whether this can beat Coffee Mania's El Nino.

My new favourite drink that I only discovered last night is Laimon Fresh. It's a carbonated tea mix in a can or bottle available at kiosks and produktis.

Hopefully it grows in popularity and Perekreostok starts stocking it.

    GIN & TONIC

Not very creative, but is there anything better than a gin & tonic to quench the thirst and take the edge off?

One word: Mojito! (But has a bit of poison in it!)

Next best thing is a icy cold New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc from Malborough...
[I prefer Villa Maria - about RUB800 per bottle which is good value]

You have fabulous taste with your drinks!

I know its very unoriginal but for the past month my refreshing drink of choice has been lemonade with OJ.... occasionally swapping the lemonade for a bit of bubbly!

    ice cream smoothie

I am in love with smoothies, so I will share one recipe I enjoy.

    1 portion of smoothie requires:

    - 1 banana (about 50 gr)
    - 1 small orange
    - 50 ml of fresh apple juice
    - 2 scoops of ice cream

Peel and slice banana and orange, then crush them in blender.

    Add apple juice and stir.

Add 1 scoop of ice cream and froth the contents in blender again. For this paticular drink I love using Movenpick sorbet ice cream, but you may add whatever ice cream you prefer.

After the stir, pour the contents in a large glass and top it with another scoop.

    Very delicious!
