Yes, while working in Russia you need to have a work permit, working visa (make it Multi entry if you need to travel frequently), Registration, remember - every time you leave the city where you are registered to work for more than 24 hours you have to get your HR people to remove you from "UCHOT" and leave.
There are some restriction on the number of days you can go and stay to a different city where you don't have the work permit etc...
