I agree with you, it's good, otherwise it would be boring.

I feel like having to use the largest font on this thread! Just a whim! Why not? I won't have to pay for this my little caprice (hopefully). And, strangely enough, doesn't it look more convincing when printed with this font? ;-)

I think you have to buy her a mink or sable coat every year, don't you? Women in Russia like to keep up with the Jones'-ovs. LOL If the neighbor has a little dog that fits in her purse I would think your wife will demand one also.

I thought we were talking about being married to a Russian woman, I have been married to one for more than five years, and I am not married to one that wants a mink coat. In fact she knew I wasn't rich. All she wants is a life without being pestered by government and local wanting most of the meney that we do earn. All we we want is to be left alone to progress in our life, and enjoy our life for love, and work for our future. But will they leave us alone? No they won't. Tedious visits non-stop! And do the Russians themselves have it any easier? No they don't. Try registering for your passport/ Try registering your child and getting their passport! Civil seravants stink here! They don't see themselves as servnts to to civilians! They see themselves as money grabbers, and their argument is that they are lousily paid, so they have to resort to illegall tricks such as finding bribes.

2 Bels. Congratulations, Bels. You are Russian and married to a proper Russian woman. Do you know when you became one? When started thinking like this about civil servants (just think more why do they behave like this and you will come to an absolute understanding of this fantastic country) Your words are literally what Dostoevsky wrote, and he is a banner of Russian character. We are proper fellow country men Bels from now :-)

Thank you vadim. I had to ask my almost 13 year old son what you meant by Dostoevsky, and he expalained to me. Lokks like his his education isn't that bad in many cases. He knew what to say to me, and it was positive, and much appreciated. As on reading about hime later I like him. So Yes. This is what I read, even though I preferred my Russian sons basic explanation.

Here it isas It deserves a read! Bels, you must be a very happy father. I didn't know that thirteen year olds can be interested in writers of such a high level! It's a hard reading even for adults. I have never had own kids, but would definitely feel myself the most proud dad talking to a teenager son and enjoying a friendly discussion about Dostoyevsky, really. It's amazing what you've just said! Good parental job.

I did. It's in any school carriculum. Book is great, movie (as usual) is complete rubbish. I did not mean Dostoevsky wrote about it in a novel, no. He was a journalist either, it was written in the Writer's Diary, there is a dedicated chapter when he compares German and Russian civil servants. Lots of fun (sad fun, I mean).

    Unique Russian Women

I'm writing something in American Russia Observations, http://www.amrusob.blogspot.com about how in many ways Russian women are in my estimation the best anywhere. It will probably make the people back in the States all upset, but the more I consider it, the more I believe it.

I have been married for eleven years and have lived here in SPb ten. American women can be OK but they are more likely to go haywire over little things.

Any ideas about the good and bad of Russian women?
