    Since it started snowing harder...

The forums are getting harder to read in IE7, in fact the text becomes eroded to the point of making it uncomfortable to read... like a poor case of Cleartype tuning, or a touch of a micro-pacman at work...

Anyone else seeing the same? I've got it on three totally different puters' this morning, and only on these forums...

I can read the forums OK, but if I open three tabs (say) then the load times and refresh times and my ability to switch between tabs is badly hindered as something on the domain is causing my CPU usage to ramp up from the sort of normal 5-10% level to as much as 100%...

My notebook is getting very hot as a result LOL, and it's only happening on these forums - and absolutely nowhere else in my bookmarks. I'm using XP SP3 on three different computers, all of them bug free and running IE7 as the browser...

Anyone else care to check CPU usage (just use Windows task manager)...

this javascript code uses 100% of thread time, and it is really annoying, because it looks like that all browsers use one thread for all their tabs

so someone should really turn off this snow or tweak the scripts somehow so that it wouldn't use 100% of thread time

Agreed. My connection is bad enough, don't need the weather to slow things down more. And yes, sometimes the text gets all weird, too. I thought it might have been the wine . . .

Definitely a connection between the weather and the speed on the site. Just logged on, and it's immensely faster than when the blizzard was going on.

    Thanks to the weather gods.
