So you are suggesting an Account Takeover (ATO), unauthorised use of credentials and then offensive posts made / PMs sent which resulted in a ban?

If so, would we not see 'User Banned' message in the profile?

That depend on the Admin's on the forum and how they had chosen to set up things.

An other scenario could be that offensive posts made / PMs was sent by Wally and resulted in a ban, and as a punishment they have now only granted him access to say "Thanks", so he can learn the word "Thanks", make a point if you like. I just do not know, and find it very strange what is going on.

can one open a -new account - and letting admin know who you are and why you are doing it?

Aha! I think you've cracked the code!! Bravo, Hans!!

Wally, you should ONLY like this post if Hans' theory is correct: if you got kicked out of the sandbox for sending naughty PMs or making naughty posts, and can now only (at least) give thanks; a big concession you won from the admins :D

If we don't see Wally's thanks here, we'll have to keep trying! :))

One thing's for sure, probably RL and a few other people are happy about the ban! :D

I have been sort of busy sorting out females. Wally being able only to leave his thanks under someone else's post makes him a perfect expatru participant.:) Wally, keep it up, old sport, click Thanks under this one too, show us your clicking prowess.:) That said, hope he hasn't been hit by a truck or beaten up to messy pulp by OMON by mistake during one of the recent massive anti-putin protests. Russia is not made for the guys like Wally, she never forgives tender feelings to herself.:)

I don't think so. He has to log in first. Or click the login button with the login details remembered by the system.

Not from the same computer/smart phone. The forum tracks your URL. You can, of course, go to the library or cafe and open a new account from that different location.
