But it doesn’t mention the huge issue of having to surrender one’s own citizenship. What’s the status of THAT one?
But what was changed from a few months ago?
I quickly skimmed the article and i didn't see anything new?
Check Federal Law 58-FL, 63-FL and 134-FL. Basically changes for foreigners are:
1) Foreign citizenship renunciation is not required.
2) Foreigner with Russian spouse and child can apply for citizenship with no minimum length of stay in Russia.
3) Processing time reduced from 6 to 3 months.
4) This is more recent... Foreigner not married to Russian citizen and have adult Russian child can apply for citizenship.
Many other laws are more for foreign Russian speakers and students studying in Russia.
