Hello, I'm a Russian lady living in Pakistan. I was given the Russian citizenship and International passport while i was here i was told that i can go to anyplace in Russia to get the internal passport. I do not have a propiska in Russia, nor do i have a property where i can get a propiska. I'm told that to get the internal passport i do not need a porpiska but to apply for the citizenship for my husband i need to have a place where i have a propiska. Can anyone please give some advise? I have been trying for years to come to Russia with my family but the Consulate here tells me that i can go with my children but my husband can come only after i have arranged an private invitation for him from Russia. For this, i need to have a place where i can have a propiska. How can i go alone, do all the work and look after my children at the same time? I do not even have a place to live in Russia at the moment.

I'm a teacher of English and other school subjects like Science, Mathematics, etc., i teach the Cambridge syllabus to children from Class 1 to 7.

Any kind of advise will be greatly appreciated. My email is RussiaOnline@Gmail.Com Thank you.

p.s. I don't know it it's possible, but it will be best for me if my husband can receive or at least apply for the citizenship from here. That way we can save some expenses.

Propiska is hard to get. You have probably done this, but personal relationships are the best bet. One of my colleagues is trying to do this right now. If you have money, you could try to buy a little, very bad apartment somewhere for cheap (I've heard this can be done) and register yourself there. In any case, it sounds like you will need to come first with the kids, then invite your husband unless he can come on like a work visa (he could try to find a job before he comes, or get a 3-month visa and job hunt).

Yes, a three month business visa, as you can't provide the invitation.

Is your husband also an EFL teacher? Because if so , he could get the work contract from a language centre before his arrival to Russia. He then has the advantage of staying here a full year rather than 90 days in, 90 days out.

Also, I do believe that his path will be Temporary Residency permit first, then Permanent residency, and then citizenship if he really wants the latter. Many feel they don't need the citzenship, nor want it for obvious reasons.

man behind me in the cafe today Friday ! I was with my daughter and had on my Italian slacks and hat. I told him what I read here about the north of England being in the dumps. A seaside 3 bedroom house with ocean view 75K pounds. He took up with an american woman and they are around 50 yrs of age. I also informed him of the info herein that "most of the outsiders in Moscow are sitting on some company's neck" or sound like some kids in thier 20's looking for adventure ! I have looked into Canada immigration and they have a point system that descriminates against me unless I sign up with an employer for work. It is a breeze to get a job if I wanted to drive truck in Canada. They will take anyone claiming to be a computer Geek. I was looking at Victoria. My wife thinks Moscow would be TOO different for my daughter and I but we have NO LIFE here , just living a boring life ! She will say 99% of the people in this world have boring lives. That is true. I don't want to waste away to the grave like this. James Bond is on the tele tonight again. They make the Russians look foolish like those old war movies with the Brits sitting in the Sahara talking about the "Savoy" . that gent today said the Savoy is undergoing rehab and is closed. Being as Canada descriminates maybe my only option is to go to Russia, or apply for a political disident like during the Viet Nam days some guys did that ! My draft number was 300 long ago. I could get a Polish Passport as my last name is Polish. My wife is Russian and the poster tonight gave the lowdown from N.Y. I remembered a new word " LOO" I think the spelling is not coreect though. What do you say about Moscow . The decent area are to the west. Can you give me insights. thanks Michael and Albina.

Loo is toilet or kazi. Or for you Americans it's washroom. It's an adopted word from the Indian language, due to Britain's occupation in India.

Another adopted word from the Indian language is bungalow

though you were from Canada ! I have a Canada flag and a Russian one. I did order some " good music yesterday ! I never knew "the Rascals were fom England ! I ordered "From Russia With Love" . No one in the U.S. ever heard of Matt Monro ! We never heard of Freddie Mercury either ! My wife heard of him in the 70's. With the postings on this forum, McCain is living in the old days lookin gto start a war with Russia and China but as we all know big business runs things ! Without China, the U.S. would be in DEPRESSION, not recession. We try NOT to buy Chinese, and one can not trust the products here with salmonella, or e coli. God knows what the Mexicans put on our fruit, antifreeze or nuclear waste. Our yard is only big enough for some tomatoes as our raspberries have quit berring fruit. I am digging out the berries for other plants. What's new by you ? Do you go to St.Petersburg for holiday ? Or maybe mum in England ? I read a post herein from some guy who was NOT letting money stand in his way. So he said ! A place in Macedonia, ( God knows why there ), bicycling in Ireland, HOW MISERABLE service is in London , and Enlgand is general has gone down the loo ! So it really was better when Sherlocke and Charles Laughton were around ! When gents were gents ! What;s the latest ?
