I am playing with the idea of buying a new car in Moscow. My question is how difficult and costly it will be to take the car home (Germany) afterwards, say in 1-2 years. Does anyone have experience or knows where to get this information? There should be some possibility to take the car as "personal belonging" with reduced/ no customs? Thanks for any hints.

Hello everyone,

This is my first post in this site and I wish you can help me a Little, because asking in the police and traffic department nobody knows anything. I more or less the same question asked before.

I`m from Madrid and lived in Vladivostok already for 1 year. I bought a car time ago, put it in a friend name and drive it with no so many problems. Just with the permission of the owner in a little paper, and an international license.

The question is now I want to make a little trip with the car. Send by train to Moscow and after drive it from Moscow to Madrid. The car now is with transit numbers because I thought in sell it.

Can I go out Russia with a car registered in my friend’s name just with a power of attorney?

Is possible go out with the transit numbers, or the car need to be register?

If the car is registered, can be break the registration without show the car if you provide the prove like I registered this car in my name in Spain?

Thanks a lot for the answers and sorry for my English!

Hey!

According to this document you wouldn't pay any customs tax when you export this car.

I am not sure, but maybe you can even reduce NDS (18%) as you are not resident of Russia! (isn't it?) I think the car shops managers should to know this question exactly.

1) Yes, you can but you SHOULD write the letter from your friend (permission for car) very PROPER and do very PROPER translation to Russian of course it must be confirmed by lawyer. I think if you try to do so, you'll meet with a lot of confusing on the Russian border.

2) As I know, transit numbers work only two or three weeks so pay attention on it and again you can go out with transit numbers and with very PROPER organized documents.

3)Yes, it is possible with PROPER organized documents.

Hope this info about import/export cars in Russia will help you.

Thanks a lot.

I tried to ask everybody, even some sellers, but nobody makes this before here. They just told me "°°°don`t try with the foreign plates!!!"

This friend is Russian, so the letter will be write in Russian in a notary.

The idea of go out with transit numbers is because in this case we donít have the problem to brake the registration after without the car. I think is possible renew the transit number before put the car in the train an after there is enough time to arrive Madrid.

What is your plan in general?

Have transit numbers, put car in container in Vladivostok -> move it to Moscow -> in Moscow drive to Madrid by yourself with transit numbers ?

I appreciate you if you would do it.

Anyway if you will do it, put here your comments, I think it'll be useful for everybody.

What is that car that you love so much?

This is more or less the plan. I think I will do it with normal plates.

Is a Subaru WRX STI. The Spanish model is different than the Japanese. But really is more for make the trip than for the car.

Total mistrust to the Chinese car industry is won. Motor-car manufacturers Celestial win the greatest in the world the market - American. The first Chinese legkoviki will appear in the United States this autumn.
