I've met at least 50 to 60 users from this site, god, probably even more, over the years for beers, parties, events, and other good times. And of those 50 to 60+, I definitely know 20 of them quite well and see them more often than just Friday nights. They're friends and not just on the internet.

Hey AndyB, isn't it good to know that you speak good English! LOL! :wavey:

To Natkin:
Dear - you need to promise it.....
After you reading this:

Molla Nasretdin claimed once on market, that he will make a donkey speak.
Sultan heard about this and ordered to bring Molla to the castle...
> So....could you really teach a donkey to speak???

> But, yes, my dear Sultan.....

> Ok - I will give you as mush gold as you will ask, and you will teach my donkey to speak....I give you five years....But if in the end of this term, you will fail - I will execute you! :5387:

Molla agreed with conditions, took as much gold as he wanted and came back to home.
At home his wife was crying in despair:

> You are stupid fellow!!! What's wrong with you???
How possibly you could teach a donkey to speak???!!! You will be executed and me with you!!!

> Hey, wife - take it easy!
We have Gold now for comfort life....as for time - who knows what will happened in five years!! Either Sultan will change...or our Donkey will die.....

Is he a well known character in your country somehow?

Hi Turkgida,
we have a very good book about Hodja Nasreddin written in Russian by Russian (Soviet) journalist Leonid Solovyov. He was born in Lebanon in the beginning of 20 century, and then his family (his father was an official) returned to Russia and then back to the Middle Asia, where Leonid's career as a journalist began. He travelled a lot all over the Middle East, and while travelling he collected lots of folklore tales, parables, songs and all the like, and in among them were many stories about Hodja Nasreddin.

The book consists of two parts, first of which is dedicated to Hodja Nasreddin's adventures in Bokhara, where he rescues Guldjan, a daughter of a potter, and marries her. The events of the second part take place many years later, and in that part Hodja gets acquainted with a one-eyed thief (who turns out to be the famous Baghdad Thief) and toghether they set out in search of a village, standing by a mauntain lake (to panish a greedy and cruel owner of the lake, and to help villagers).
It's fascinating book, perfectly written, full of humour, full of fragrance of the East, with thrilling plot and true, lively characters. I have the book and re-read it regulary, and everytime I'm reading it with fresh and sharp feeling of joy. Oh, I'd like to see all those places!

for Russians (and those who read in Russian): you can try to download the book for free here:
Леонид Соловьев скачать книги бесплатно, книги автора Леонид Соловьев (http://bookz.ru/authors/solov_ev-leonid.html)
or search it yourself, and in that case:

ОЧЕНЬ рекомендую!:sunny::celebrate:
