The former is supposed to be awful, and the latter is supposed to be good.

The latter is just SUPERB! I'd recommend it to everyone, both adults and kids :)

I have seen it on DVD. It is great. I liked the second part of it better though (the one where animals talk). It is fun both for kids and parents.

We bought Brother Bear on DVD at the weekend, at Gorbushka. I agree that it was better when the animals started talking, especially the Canadian moose, but the story itself is too politically correct and cloying for my taste. Parts of it seemed to be ripped off from "Ice Age", which I much preferred. All the same, I watched to the end, so it wasn't that dreadful.

Disney really has no edge without Pixar, in my opinion. The film is not a patch on Nemo or Toy Story. My three year old daughter was not impressed either, but I suspect it's aimed at children who are slightly older.

Brother Bear -- Ripoff of Ice Age, Politically Correct, cloying and annoying -- all these if you are a movie critic. But, for just some fun at the movies, worth the price of admission even for someone as old as Zachariah claims I am...
