They know no shame. They lie after lie and then claim "freedom of the press" to keep telling their lies. This is why nobody believes them and Trump got elected.

There is no need for a CIA in an open and free society when you have a strong military.

There is no need for a CIA in an open and free society when you have a strong military.

Uncle Wally, If you honestly believe that, then you clearly do not understand the role / mission of any national level Intelligence Service whether it operates domestically or outside of it's national borders.

Pse see CIA Mission Statement at:

https://www.cia.gov/about-cia/cia-vision-mission-values

As you will read, it states:

Preempt threats and further US national security objectives by collecting intelligence that matters, producing objective all-source analysis, conducting effective covert action as directed by the President, and safeguarding the secrets that help keep our Nation safe.

No military, however strong, could effectively negate the work of a national Intelligence Agency.

Given the current hiatus in the UK concerning the RF and alleged GRU operations on UK soil, the UK's lead Intelligence Agency's Mission Statement is:

Our mission is to provide Her Majesty's Government with a global covert capability by collecting secret intelligence and mounting operations overseas to prevent and detect serious crime, and promote and defend the national security and economic wellbeing of the United Kingdom.

Again, no military, however strong, could effectively negate the work of a national Intelligence Agency.

this sounds all fine to me, this NATIONAL Secret Service. Then why does -ever- Army, Navy, Paratroopers still want their own snoopers? Because that -National- service does not share their Intelligence. or maybe only that what the chairpusher seem fit to share? And that is or might not be enough? or maybe not describe the real situation?

By way of summary, each agency has its own 'Area' of Intelligence Responsibility and therefore has its own Intelligence Requirements.............

For example - Why would a national agency want to know where an enemy tank battalion was located, if had deployed into the field from its peacetime location or if a new anti-tank missile being deployed with the enemy tank battalion could penetrate their own tank's armour?
