I thought I would make a post that's different than TR's continual attacks on DonalD Trump, and his labeling everyone who doesn't realize the glories of Islam as an "Islamaphobe." Just for a change, you know.

Anyway, I was at the auction yesterday, and there were two kerosene lamps - they were labeled "Otto Müller" and "Berlin" but the writing was in Russian. It said "Отто Мюллер" and "Берлин" I translated for one of the antique dealers who was puzzled, as I was, but then she got interested in it, and she got both of them for $15 each. Now I am wondering if they are worth a lot more.

They looked at least 60 years old or so. They had to be pre-Great War. Maybe older. Now I see from Google, that Otto was in the 1880's. Anyone ever heard of Otto or know how a German maker of lamps would have lamps inscribed in Russian?

Otto Müller was the leading designer at German lighting manufacturer Sistrah-Licht GmbH in Stuttgart, Germany.

Much sold today is copies / fakes made in India and Turkey of his earlier works:

That's it, looks like that first one exactly. I thought there was something not quite right about them. The original owners were world travelers, collecting stuff from Europe, Japan, etc. I can't believe the matrushka dolls, small ones, were selling for $40 at the auction. I think the original owner got them in China, they say "Made in the USSR" on the bottom.

Works fine for me. Even after I empty cache and reload. Maybe there is some country or IP censor.
