..so governments can do as they please to their citizens and it's nobody else's business? :yikes:

'The World Health Organization has said: "There is no place for virginity testing; it has no scientific validity."
HRW says the tests are also discriminatory and have no bearing on a woman's ability to perform her job'

Discrimination against women and girls is rife in the third world and especially muslim countries. They can't stand up for themselves who's going to stand up for them?

Not yet.

Governments can put conditions, and it's nobody else's business. It may look strange for so called "civilized world", but the whole world is wider... In all senses.

The world is imperfect. And every place where so called "civilized world" tries to stand up for something/somebody, results in $h!t and blood, with very rare exclusions.

Testing women to find out if they are virgins is wrong, especially when that information is used to discriminate against them. 'The world is wider' can be used as an excuse to perpetuate any injustice.

The W.H.O. has every right to speak out, they do a lot of good supporting countries in their health requirements. Giving money and other support to countries that including Indonesia and Russia.
It's not a military organization, has no guns or weapons so why would voicing an opinion result in violence?

The excuse, 'mind your own business' is the oldest in the world to hide wrong doing. :10293:

Any way, setting aside the disgusting test, can a hymen not break doing gymnastics or riding a horse, or is that just a myth?

For you (and me btw) - yes. But other people may have other opinions.

especially when that information is used to discriminate against them.
Is it?

'The world is wider' can be used as an excuse to perpetuate any injustice.
Can be, yes.

why would voicing an opinion result in violence?
Indeed. But the main "voice" there is not WHO, but HRW, no? ;)

:agree:

Because others have different opinions we have no right to question them?

Yes it is.

Then we need to speak out.

And what's wrong with HRW?

Then you shouldn't use as an excuse. ;-)
