wonder if =we= might be speaking all German here in Russia. if a greedy, self important, banker did not pay for the train, and an even more stupid Kaiser let the train go through Germany.
Or if nothing of the sort might have happened? Revolution, war involvement and the likes?

and may he live a long, peaceful, happy and successful life.
may he never encounter hunger, war, ethnic strife or hate.
and may he grow up in a country that IS great and will be even more so. and will be prosperous once more.
and will he be proud of to be born in Russia and be a Russian.

Not sure if the Kaiser was that stupid. Germany was losing it on the Eastern front, so some stir in Russia was beneficial for it. Which was most unfortunate, of course.

were all family.. inbreed cousins and the likes, never mind though =family=. suppose that did not count. or there was someone behind the throne who made sure they did as they were told. after all they all needed always money...( the grandfather of UDO JÜRGENS, a Austrian and world known singer-artist) were bankers to the Tsar.. from that i know the story through the film -the man with the fagot. suppose you will need to understand German. -Der Mann mit dem Fagott-. a most interesting piece of Austro-Russian History.

I know. As well as I do know, the last Emperor was not fit to rule, which turned out to be a very personal disaster for my family.

Frankly, I do hope, comrade Lenin and his gang are burning in hell.

But it doesn't change the fact, were there a strong man in power, no Wilhelm cousin could have caused a revolution or any other cr*p.

Harry Turtledove writes "alternative history" novels. In the series I read, there is an alien invasion of Earth in 1941, and Hitler, Stalin, Roosevelt, Tojo, Chiang-Kai-Shek, Mao, etc. have to unite to oppose the invaders. Very interesting how each country fights the aliens and how the aliens react with differing counter-strategies to make peace or war. Each book is 1000 pages, and a slow slog, but necessary to catch all the details, names and places. Very insightful.
