I've heard that you can rent out a gallery at the Tretyakov for an evening banquet. Are there any other ideas out there for a unique place besides the usual restaurant or hotel space for rent?

I am sure for the money u can do just about everything. For example, u can rent a place right in front of the mausoleum in front of the Red square o

A friend of mine got married in Suzdal a few years ago. Booked out two local hotels completely and took her whole family plus all of rabbits friends and relations. Church to reception in a horse-drawn sleigh, gipsy band all very romantic and memorable.

Botonical Gardens have been used before for a private party. You could try the zoo see if they'd go for it.

I guess like most people here would think, you can only ask - if the price is right most places can be had.

Boat trip... ?;)

Or simply contact some event-managing agency, they'll offer some scenarios to you. If you need any info re. agencies, you can PM me. Good luck!

Back on thread for a mo, you can rent pretty much any museum in the evenings, or what about Gostiney Dvor?

Top of the Ostankino tower, Sedmoi Neba restaurant, if it's working after the fire the other year.

SPS headquarters, that's unused most of the time these days, or at least empty.

The Pushkin Literary Museum on ulitsa Prechistenka would be a nice spot, they have a glassed-in roof area which is quite impressive. (Note - this is not the Pushkin Art Museum, which is farther down on Volkhonka.)

Alexandr Mishanov, tel. 969-5804, planned my entire wedding, did a fabulous job, and actually listened to me when I told him "money IS an object and I don't want to spend too much of it." Seemed to have a contact with nearly every establishment in Moscow, so I'd be surprised if he isn't able to find something unusual for you within your budget.
