Hi all.
I am going to the Sergiev Posad Monday, the 3th November.
I'm wondering if anybody else would like to meet up and look with me this beautiful place.

I have a car, so organization of transfer take upon myself. I'm very careful driver with turtle speed! ))

I hope pick up 3 (max 4) people.
Let me know if you'd want to meet up and have fun on the trip to Sergiev Posad!

Hey, I'd be interested. When would you be going? How far away from Moscow is it?

Easiest method is by train from Moscow's Yaroslavsky station; approximately 60 - 120 minutes depending on train. Take train to Sergiev Posad / Zagorsk or any train destined to Alexandrov. Express train is 55 minutes, I think.

You can also take a bus from VDNKh metro station. :yikes:

By car, it will be an all day trip - each way could take approximately 2 hours

hi
Sergiev Posad is situated 60 km from Moscow.

November 3 - it's a holiday. The road will be free, it takes 90 minutes one way.
On viewing Sightseeing’s about 2..3 hours (as we want).
Total 6..7 hours of travel.

Well I suppose 1 hour is 1 sandwich so I assume this way will take you about 4 - 5 sandwiches approximately

If your car has a cable, I can plug in my iPod, so there's at least a few hundred more songs to listen to

It's the small things in life that make all the difference. Gotta flaunt my musical tastes, after all.

Also, would having copies of my passport suffice for the trip? I don't have it because I'm getting my visa renewed and that good stuff. I'm just worried that I may run in problems with the police.

You're highly unlikely to even see the police, much less run into problems. I've been in Moscow for over 6 years, and have only had to show my passport to the police once.

Cool, that's a relief. However, I'm mixed race, so I'm paranoid a cop will think I look Kazakh enough and pull me aside. Lord knows I've seen some examples of police brutality here already to make me a wee bit more paranoid.

Thanks, it was pretty awesome! Other than horrendous (took us over three hours to get back to Moscow proper) traffic, everything went well. Also, I'd like to extend a huge thank you to Helga for taking me!

I'm free Saturday day time

However I'm travelling / flying on the Sunday - so it can't be a late meet - I will need to grab an early night on the Saturday ready for travels

I'm free from 11am til 5pm ish though
