There are many on this forum who are also in the Moscow Expat group on Facebook. For those who aren't, here are the details of the next Expat meeting.

I didn't arrange it - I am not the Organiser - I am simply posting the information!!!! :)

Greetings all,
Today we have finally negotiated with Franklin Bar for the Expat Event on April 19th from 20:00 to 06:00. We would like to try this new venue which seems really cool and because we managed to get a great deal. The address is Nikolskaya 25 on the 5th floor of Nautilus mall. You should have no problem finding it and it’s almost adjacent to Lyubianka Metro.
The location is ideal because of the following:
• About 50 meters from Lyubianka metro;
• About 100 meters from Papas which the majority of you know and where we had very nice events;
• We have the whole place to ourselves and it will be spacious enough to accommodate everyone;
• The prices on drinks is valid from 20:00-06:00;
• The Deejay will start at 23:00 and will take requests and work with us;
• Drinks
o Rum Cola RUR100
o Whiskey Cola RUR100
o Gin Tonic RUR100
o Vodka RedBull RUR200
o Long Island RUR250
o Margarita RUR250
o Mojito RUR250
o Cosmopolitan RUR250
o Vodka Shot RUR50
o Tequila Shot RUR50
o Coke RUR50
o Apple Juice RUR50
o Orange Juice RUR50
o Tomato Juice RUR50
o Bavaria 0.5 liter bottle RUR100
o Hookah RUR1000

We really think this will be a fun time and I’m sure you will enjoy the location and atmosphere of this place. It would be great if you would confirm your attendance so we can do a quick head count and make sure everything will be set.

(BTW, you can tell that I copied and pasted..... I would NEVER spell "meters" (sic) in the yankee way!! ;) )

Dunno why, but the even does not show up in Facebook when I click the link. There must be something wrong with it (the link, that is).

I just looked and checked with one of the admins of the Moscow Expats group, on FB. Because the event was created for the members of the group, it can only be seen by members of the group - somewhat short-sighted, in my opinion, but that's the way it is.....

You can ask to join the group and you will then, once you have been "approved", be able to see the event....

VicY, I have added you to the group, as we are FB friends, so you don't need to do anything but wait!! :)

This was arranged on Easter?
Definitely an "expats-only" thing.
I couldn't come even if I could.

I'd bet that a deal was offered because of expected reduced clientele on the evening of Pascha. A large portion of even only nominally Orthodox show up for Paschal services.

Ouch! You've definitely forgot about those damned atheists. :) For example, I don't know when there is any Easter, or Peisah, or Ramadan. And this is good and correct. ;)

I said "reduced clientele", NOT "non-existent". :)

Yeah, it would attract a particular kind of expat....

I am not sure what you mean Rus :p
In my circle, even though people care about celebrating Pascha (kulichis and painted eggs), none of them goes for overnight services. Only afternoon.

So your circle doesn't include the nominals who go to church to see the Procession and midnight Liturgy. That's all it means. Attendance triples (at least) on the biggest holidays.

Try this link....

I think they have created a new event because of the restrictions set when the previous event had been created, after which they couldn't be changed!!
