View Full Version : Hello everyone!

I am an American in his late 30s. I just visited Moscow on vacation for the first time during the last week of October. I loved it - thought the people were very friendly and helpful and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. However, there is still much I would like to see so I plan to return next spring or summer.

I would also like to possibly visit St. Petersburg during the same trip. I know there is a high speed train making a four-hour commute between the cities.

I have a couple of questions:

1. What time of year are the airfares and hotel rates generally cheapest in either city? My travel dates are extremely flexible - anytime between March and September.

2. How more would it cost to purchase two one-way plane tickets over round trip? Would I be better off taking the train both ways as well?

PS: I would be flying out of Chicago.
