I was thinking of writing a story about modern Rome called "The Last Roman," and it's about a guy who is a noone and he can only make money by dressing up as a Roman soldier at the Coilisseum. That's his whole life, just posing with tourists and standing their with a Roman sword in Roman uniform.
But little by little, he comes to take great pride in this job and in his territory where he does his pics.
Meanwhile, his wife what's a cleaner in a bank is having a affair and his daughter gets hooked on drugs.
Things might have turned out ok even then, had not a mafia guy decided to send his own Roman soldiers to our anti heroes pitch outside the Colesseum.
This sets the scene for a showdown where our 'hero' takes a shotgun and still dressed in his Roman uniform kills the mafia boss.
The end scene has our hero screaming about Rome's glory, at the Colosseum, covered in blood, with tourists taking pictures of him.

Thanks Jas for making me read an article only to find out the 54 Euros for 4 gelati was a MISTAKE!!

The article goes on to describe how the Brits were compensated for this mistake by the city of Rome which was exceptionally apologetic for the mistake.

Come on here, how about a little honesty?

I liked the Italian immigrants that came to London many years ago, Julius Cesaer etc, yes they were a bit pushy but they where far much better than the immigrants we get these days and did not impose on the benefits regime :D

One of the great things about Italia is that one can sleep with a dead horse! ;)

Of course, the other great aspect about Italians is that one can always rely on their inbuilt unreliability! :D

Its so inbuilt, even their best motor cars, such as the Ferrari, are also famed for being unreliable and temperamental! :10310:

Anyhow, today I was mostly sleeping.

A funny song from Berluskoni - if you know Russian.:) If not, it is fun to watch as well, you will get the idea.:) Well, briefly, he is singing that yes, he has met many models, but he has not had sex with any of them because he is 70 y.o. already and can hardly walk even.:)

Sounds like an advertisement trick from the chain of hotels there. A rather primitive stunt. Capitalists... Ok, 54 Euros for 4 ice-creams is expensive, but how about the 600 Euros per day hotel rooms they were entertained to?:) On the other hand, if they visit Mrzuzzo in Moscow, they may pay 50 Euros for EACH ice-cream I think...
