View Full Version : How do I go about getting a room here!

I'm looking to get an apartment or even a room in someone else's apartment in October. I want it to be inside or on the ring line of the metro and I'm willing to pay up to 50,000 roubles a month.

I have a few questions and it'd be a massive help if any of you could give advice.

- how do I go about looking? There are some posts on here but not that many. Are there more specialised sites? Is it worth going to an estate agent?

- what are landlords like? I've heard I'll need to pay a hefty deposit - fine - but will they ask for anything else?

- If I'm looking for places available from the start of October (and preferably a room in a shared flat) what's the best strategy?

Thanks for any tips you can give!

Deposit is usually one month's rent.

If you don't speak Russian well then I would suggest getting a friend who does to help. Either that or find an agent that speaks English well.

Have a look on cian to find properties. This link - if it works - should give you apartments for rent in the area you're looking for at between 30k and 50k roubles per month:-

If there are problems with that link here are some examples of what's available in that price range:-

btw which ones Pink?

I havent used this one before so I dont know anything about it, but you can try it. The one I used to use is no longer. Maybe someone else here has info on this one.
