Turkey 19%
Israel 21%
Egypt 30%

That is where Russians go on holiday.

Poland 36% and the Russians subjected the Poles to years of communism :D

Good to see the Russian tourists flying the flag high, one would expect a higher % with what happened recently in Turkey and Egypt, many tourists went elsewhere, but not Russians, they don't let a protest or a military coup get in their way of a bit of fun in the sun...:plane:

Most of them 'Russins' probably don't think that highly of the men who run Russia..

So, that is roughly 19% of the Isreali population, so 2% of the Russian Israeli population don't like Russians :D

Very favourable from S.Korea 78%, only the US can save them from an invasion form the N.Korea..

From the other image, the Japanese don't think too highly of the Chinese, only 5%

It's not so much that S. Korea has a favorable image of Russia than they have a very low image of the Chinese. It's more a choice of 2 evils.

This was the situation when I was in Turkey. The Turks didn't particularly like the US - but they really really didn't like the Russians.

As for the Japanese, they consider the :11513: Chinese to be a lower form of life - and the Chinese return the favor.

How do you know, maybe I plan to use English with the British accent... :focus:
Are there similar maps for the US and the GB? It would be interesting to take a look at those, too...
I doubt such polls can be trusted, though:

Around 800 - 1,200 people were interviewed by phone or face-to-face between March and May this year in each of the countries included in the poll except China, where more than 3,000 were polled.

Why did he get it wrong? The Turks should be grateful the Russians still bring them fair amounts of tourist cash. And quite a lot of eager Russian p'ssy on holiday, should I add...

The current attitude seems a bit more relaxed than when I was in Turkey ;)

Back then :9456: "Russian tourist" was a very very rare species, anywhere not just Turkey

Well I lived in Istanbul, not Antalya but still loads of Russians there. Had a funny experience more than once when people "recognized " me as a fellow Russian.

And my language school had 10 English teachers, 4 Russian teachers, 1 arab and 1 french...Russian was a very popular language to learn for business. The high school iworked at was owned by Evyap- soap, hygiene products and detergent makers with huge exports to Russia. I think number 1 in Russia with Duru etc. So business is strong between the countries. There are places like aksaray and sariyer that are very russian quarters in the city.

But yes, ALL tourism ground to a halt in the time of the protests as did Russian tourism to the red sea when Egypt was ousting its president. So Judge's assertion isn't correct either.

And I know , among my Turkish male friends, Russian girls are extremely popular and they love going to Antalya to meet them. I had two female friends visit me from krasnodar, and my students were almost fighting over them. I didn't encounter any anti-russian feelings there.

Bulgaria, Serbia are strongly pro-Russian, not mentioned

Greeks are pro-Russian probably because Russian (plus British and French) warships supported Greek guerillas in their war against Ottoman Turkey 200 years ago. Without foreign intervention Greece would have continued as an ottoman province for many more years

I can't say Bulgaria is strongly pro-Russian. Let's say, they like to milk two cows.

Despite another wane|decline in current U.S.-Russian relations, interest in Russia among American students is steadily growing.

This indicates that exchange programs remain a powerful tool (http://rbth.ru/international/2013/09/05/why_american_students_still_go_to_russia_29551.html) for rooting out the Cold War mentality.
