Hi everyone, mods feel free to put in another folder..

I'm leaving and I have a couple of bags of novels in English, DVDs, accounting/management textbooks and magazines eg. Vanity Fair from 2011, and I'm wondering what to do with them.

--Does anyone know of eg. a school/library/charity that would want them?
--Is the book swap still running?
--Would anyone want to come by my flat on Leningradka and take them off me?

If I don't find a place to give all the novels then I'll start listing them separately. I guess the novels are the most "worth" or "use" to people, but it would be great if I found some place that would appreciate the magazines before I put them out

I had the same problem and found it easier just to give them all to charity for their second hand 'market'. I gave all my books to these people: http://www.standrewsmoscow.org/index.php
Get in touch with them if you can't find someone to take them off your hands, they'll be most grateful.

She'd need a passport and special permit to get into the building.

There are so called "public libraries" in Moscow now.you just leave your books in special boxes in parks.)

oh yeah? Do you know off the top of your head which parks?
I'm of the lazy slash busy persuasion and will almost definitely take any option that involves people collecting the books from me over an option that involves me lugging them about. I might make an effort for a charity or library though, so thanks for the suggestions folks

Not sure yet Yaks! I'm leaving my flat end of august and going away for a week to see my folks on an island in north of the netherlands, and going to turkey for a week to play in a lacrosse tournament, with some assorted bumming and hopefully job interviews in between.

Contenders for places to move to at the mo are Aberdeen, Edinburgh and London, depending on whether any work materialises, or maybe somewhere hot and exotic if I get my arse and nerve into gear and arrange it, like what Brazil or something?!

I'm open to ideas. Think Edinburgh would be best
