Hello,

I have a presentation to deliver and the question I am addressing to you
is "what can you say about the evolution of woman's life in the USA after the WW2"

i'm interested in your point of view. What are the most important changes to you?
There is yet another question that of the evolution of the feminist movement but it may be a bit more difficult to answer, though...

Well, whatever ideas you have please let me know:-)))

thank you very much

Serge

The state of almost everything has declined in America. Women have lost thier feminine identity to political correctness and as a result men have become more feminized. What had made up the American culture was imported from Europe and this culture has degraded to the point of Rap music and gangs emerging as the driving force defining the "American" culture. That along with Jewish marketing of sex and perversion I would say that Americas influence along with its financial fate is coming to a long deserved end.
Russian culture is far older and has managed to survive The American degradation and will continue just as it survived Stalin.

Before WW2 women in america were not financially independent, most worked at home taking care of their husband and their children.

Since so many men of working age had to go off to war, jobs needed to be filled by women. Because of this, women gained more buying power and companies started to make and market more products for or towards women.

After the war many men did not return home to their wives, so they had to keep working to support their children. Also it showed men that women can work outside the home and broke many taboos.

The real turning point in the status of women was with the invention of the "pill". Freed them from dependence on man.

Serge,

There are multiple causes for the liberation of women in the USA since the late 1940's. Sexuality it is true has become more open and acceptable to the mainstream culture. The media - Movies, television, magazines and music - no longer censor sexual jokes or references. This all began with Lenny Bruce and Hugh Hefner which has lead some ill-informed people to conclude that there was some Jewish conspiracy. The real turning point was with Elvis, the Beatles, the Doors and the Rolling Stones.
However, women in America would never have reached the level of independence they enjoy today without technological progress. The consumer durables explosion ( washing machines, electric irons, microwave ovens, "pampers" instead of cloth diapers, etc.) have given women free time which historically proves to be beneficial to those seeking upward social mobility and social freedom.

there is a huge amount of discussion about sex and sexuality - some of it obscene, there are even comedians who specialise in this like Andrew Clay Diceman.there is also a huge pornographic industry to meet the needs of a vast population that is apparently unsatisfied with or deprived of sex. Freedom to talk about sex is good but if it is done in excess, that suggests sexual repression

Paul are you a male chauvinist? Great to know after women do all your choirs the can have their own life. But only after right? Keep her bare foot and pregnant that's what you say?

You made yourself out to be a bigot, racist and rabid nationalist all in one post. Good job.
I believe that religion, generally speaking, has been a curse to mankind - that its modest and greatly overestimated services on the ethical side have been more than overcome by the damage it has done to clear and honest thinking.
I believe that no discovery of fact, however trivial, can be wholly useless to the race, and that no trumpeting of falsehood, however virtuous in intent, can be anything but vicious.
I believe that all government is evil, in that all government must necessarily make war upon liberty...
I believe that the evidence for immortality is no better than the evidence of witches, and deserves no more respect.
I believe in the complete freedom of thought and speech...
I believe in the capacity of man to conquer his world, and to find out what it is made of, and how it is run.
I believe in the reality of progress.
I - But the whole thing, after all, may be put very simply. I believe that it is better to tell the truth than to lie. I believe that it is better to be free than to be a slave. And I believe that it is better to know than be ignorant.

Serge: you might want to think about narrowing the scope of your topic to something more workable. The truth is that womens' lives have changed dramatically over the past 60 years, just as the rest of American society has changed in that same time period. Trying to cover the entire idea of the changes in womens' lives is probably too much to master in a reasonable time.

Also, as you may have found, you're not going to get a lot of academic level discussion here. I am sure you will find better sources of information on the internet.
