I am about to start a teaching job in Moscow in September. Any advice about anything would help. Thanks

British International School 2.
I don't know anything about the area or where my accommodation will be, though I have asked to be near the school.

School 2 is just to the north of Sokol and Aeroport metro stations near the дендрологический сад, or arboretum, also known as Timiryaevskiy Park which is to the north of the centre of Moscow:-

That is quite a reasonable area and the rents are not so bad there either. It is much more a suburban area rather than the centre of Moscow. Think living somewhere in north London like Golders Green or Hendon rather than the West End.

There are plenty of threads here about help when first moving to Moscow so just have a search and then any specifics you need help with just shout.

I would suggest that you might be better also posting on some specialist sites as well for specific information on working at the school.

You may have come across English Teacher X who has a rather jaundiced view on the teaching profession after spending 9 years teaching EFL in Russia:-

including 192 reasons why Russia sucks:-

Although, just remember, this is just one person's point of view
