The aeropress makes 1-cup of coffee (http://www.howtobrewcoffee.com/aeropress.htm). I've been using one for the past few weeks and am very pleased.

There are quite a few website "how-to" methods (http://worldaeropresschampionship.wordpress.com/recipes/) & videos for using the aeropress.

I happen to find the "inverted" method convenient.

Looks like a combination of a French Press and a Vietnamese coffee maker. Looks good; I'll have to try it.

I had been using the bodum french press, also with good results, when I came across this aeropress contraption. The aeropress uses air pressure, but not nearly so many millibars as an espresso maker; and the ground coffee only comes in contact with the hot water for @ 30 secs. which cuts down on acidity.

There are plenty of websites to read up on the methodology & theory :sunny:

I paid $28 for the aeropress kit. And I also got a stainless permanent filter for $10. To my taste buds, the stainless filter makes a "rougher" cup, while the paper filter makes for a finer cup.
