One of my staff at work recently brought her English homework from university in for me to help her out with.
Stuff like:
This morning Jill told David that................to see her friend today

a. she is going
b. she will be going
c. she will already be going
d. she is already going

i can't remember them all and most were harder than the example above.
Pleople at work were amazed that i was struggling with them and i'm sure they thought i must be as thick as two short planks!
I'm sure the Russians here will have something to say about this.

I have three things I'd comment on:

1. It's definitely not a grammar quiz, but vocabulary.

2. What fakultet is this from ? Different attention/difficulty/teaching quality is offered for students of the same subject in different fakultets. Even within the foreign language department, students taking English as their "major" or primary language are likely to have vastly different teaching quality then those taking English as a second language or "minor". If it's for English majors, you can bet that this isn't really their second year of instruction. They likely had serious tutoring, instruction, and competition (or money) to get into this department. MGU is arguably one of the most prestigous universities country-wide.

3. I think the quiz itself is somewhat lacking in direction. I mean, is the point to test your use of prepositional phrases (questions 4, 11 & 12) or understanding from context (1,2 & 5) ? As such, I think it comes accross as somewhat vague, and not completely effective.

Interesting, nevertheless, MM !

Regards,
Intourist

P.S. You all know that all I answered everything correctly, so I won't subject youto further evidence of my intelligence by showing my answers. It's kinda a given anyway.

In the part of Philadelphia I used to live in, "B" would be the correct answer. As in, "Why you all up in my business, fool?"

In response to Trebor's little test (second posting from the top) - all of them are wrong. Or at least, none fit naturally into the gap without sounding like a Russian trying too hard to speak correct English. Was that deliberate?

No helterskelter86
it wasn't deliberate and i'm not convinced you are right. But of course the point is I"M NOT SURE!
So many people who have English as a first language have difficulty with simple grammer/gramma
Like i'm having trouble spelling right now.
