Hi Chriss,
Where are you play badminton?
I play sometimes on stadium "Iskra"(it is located near the "Botanicheskij sad" station)
It's good idea to play together!

the thing is, last friday, when Kagan joined in, i got a nasty shock of finding out what it's like FOR REAL, when the boys played against each other...
So you also have to promise to be a gentleman enough

GalinaP

Well seem the game is finally getting some steam!!!

Friday sounds cool rather I can come on the weekdays also but where do we play?

GalinaP
06-08-2012, 16:53
Yes, that's a big question for me too as I don't know badminton places in Moscow. I can do a bit of research on this one, or, hopefully, somebody else on the forum could reply and help us please?:eh:

Finally after all the lengthy discussion :hooray:, whats the plan? Are we playing or not? If yes then where?

GalinaP
08-08-2012, 12:52
Yes-yes-yes, no doubt we are:hooray: Ok, let's get ourselves properly organised. Question number one: Friday or Sunday? (like i said, either is fine with me). Question number two: which area of Moscow? (so i would start looking up the places)

Ignia
08-08-2012, 15:54
Gorky park? They make a point of allowing walking on the grass there. Also there's a "sand court", but it must be reserved and paid for.

I can't do Sunday, sorry. Also I'll be an easy one to knock out of the game: no training, no practice, never played with the net. Does a 20-minutes "game" in a parking lot with a coworker count as practice? lol

GalinaP
08-08-2012, 16:24
You're joking? Alongside me, a sorry excuse of a badminton player? it'll be fun, i'm sure. we'll make a spectacle of ourselves, but the funnier the better. so, shall we reserve the sandy one in Gorky Park? for Friday? 7 pm?

Ignia
08-08-2012, 17:01
I'm at work 'till 7 pm Mo-Fr, waste about an hour+ commuting and then need about 30-35 mins more to bike to the Park. :(
This Saturday I'm free. )

OK, Mr Know-It-All, now seeing that playing badminton in the sand is about as effective as dancing ballroom in the mudfield, do you have any useful suggestions about Moscow sports places? Mind me, you would be investing in your own end-of-month great sports performance as I'm quite intent on getting together a dreamteam by then!

GalinaP
08-08-2012, 22:50

No worries. The only problem is I don't think I can make it to Moscow this weekend, but would be delighted if you could come to my place to play. If it's too far to travel, I'll understand of course, and we'll do this next time. If not, the place is Zheleznodoroznhy, about 10 km east of Moscow. So what do you think?

Yes, speaking of which, it dawned on me that we don't have those! Backyard version then? Could also be fun. And other games for sure, I don't think we'll have a problem with a place for basket shooting, and table tennis can be played either indoors or outdoors, whichever you prefer.

So we are back to the discussion!

This time I found out a place in the center of Moscow to play. There is one court rather 3 courts at Sadovechiskaya Nab 68 i.e. on Paveltskaya. I went there today and it looked pretty decent with not many people to play!

What say? Shall we plan a trip there?

Terrible news about Sadovnicheskaya, closed at weekends. Don't know any other convenient locations in Moscow for indoor sport games. Looks like another weekend is a pass...

But if worse comes to worst, there's always dancing to do. Marte in Novoslobodskaya has a good class at 5.30 for both couples and single dancers. Am going there if all else fails. Any last minute suggestions about gyms?
