Couch Surfing

Does anyone know if couch surfing is popular and safe in Russia?

Hi Beghy,

Me and my wife are experienced couchsurfers for 2 years now. Actually we met in a CS meeting which was my very first one and her 2nd meeting.
The point is, as far as I see CS is popular all over the word and I would say safe it you are caucious.
We go to surf 1 night to Yaroslav'l this W/E and 3 nights in St Pete Next W/E.

I agree with Bandesz. I've surfed in many countries. And I've yet to experience bad hosts. Russia was no different. I took a Trans-Sib from Mongolia across Russia. My trip was a month. And all along I surfed via CS. I met the most incredible people along the way!
Just read the references and trust your instincts. You'll love it!
