Authorities will impose traffic restrictions in several administrative districts of Moscow April 14-15 for various Russian Orthodox Easter celebrations. Approximately 2 million people will visit Moscow cemeteries, and some 15,000 police will deploy to maintain order and ensure public safety. Expect tight security, document checks, and delays.

Disruptions in Moscow Administrative Districts (0600 to 1800):

- Sergey Makeev Street will be closed to personal vehicles from 1905 Street to Zvenigorodskoye Shosse
- Festivalnaya Street from Leningrad Highway to Lavochkin Street
- Bolshaya Dekabrskaya Street will be closed to personal vehicles from Second Zvenigorodskaya to Sergey Makeev streets
- No double-parking will be permitted along Khodynskaya and 1905 Streets
- Dukhovsky Pereulok, Malaya Tulskaya Street and Luzhnetskyi Proyezd will be closed to vehicular traffic


Expect other road closures and traffic delays throughout Moscow, especially around the city's 63 cemeteries and 269 churches. Licensed taxis may be in very high demand. Authorities may also impose special security checks at metro stations.

Be aware that petty crime, especially pickpocketing, theft, and assault, increases during special events in Moscow. Criminals may deliberately target foreigners.

Plan routes to avoid closed areas and allow additional time for travel. Be sure to carry proper, current identification documents at all times. Take common-sense measures to reduce the risk of becoming the victim of petty crime. Make copies of important travel and identification documents and keep them in a secure location.
