Has anyone tried Zyr vodka (http://zyrvodka.com/reviews09.html)

Here in Pennsylvania, I'm rather limited to "the real vodka", excepting when Judge sends me a Пунтинка :)

PA LCB imported non-flavoured vodka catalog (http://www.lcbapps.lcb.state.pa.us/webapp/product_management/psi_ProductListPage_Inter.asp?strPageNum=1&selTyp=Spirits&selTypS=277&selTypW=&selTypA=&searchCode=&searchPhrase=&CostRange=&selSale=&strFilter=regular&prevSortby=BrndNme&sortBy=BrndNme&sortDir=ASC)

Do you recognize any items in this catalog  Recommendations

There is a separate listing for flavoured vodkas - mostly citrus and tutti-fruity flavors, but also a disgusting sounding :floating: candy cane and marshmellow flavored :(

There are 4 things possible to buy there:
Absolut (non-flavoured, of course)
Finlandia (non-flavoured, of course)
Russian Standard
Stolichnaya (non-flavoured, of course, and not 70 proof for girlz) - here please check the manufacturer (Stolichnaya brand is owned by SPI, not by manufacturer). If it is not from Kristall distillery of Moscow - discard.
To save money, buy 1.75 L or 1L, not 0.375-0.5, it's not our volume...

Regarding ZYR - no ideas, absolutely unknown beast...

Finlandia (non-flavoured, of course)

... the cranberry flavoured Finlandia isn't bad also.

"For whom how!"(C) ;)
Nesmeyanovka should be prepared by only 2 methods:
1) 2-week extraction with half-spiritus (48 vol.%) and cranberries at room temperature, or:
2) 30 min sedimentation in centrifuge at +4 C.

This doesn't mean I don't trust Finnish comrades, but... ;)

Once upon a time I bought a bottle of Beluga for my mom. But she didn't like it. She said it's too bitter.

I prefer the old Soviet days - not the "modern" Russia with Ost lust girls wearing high heels **moustaches & the waxy one rolling over in collective graves**

This is good information :D

I do flavoured vodkas sometimes, but I do the infusing myself. The only problem is I drink up the vodka before the infusing PROCEDURE is ripe/matured/aged

And it is good, because price/performance ratio of Beluga isn't so optimal. ;) Like a gift to somebody to show respect - yes, it is OK, but if you buy for yourself, there are less "posh" options.

"Posh" is me. hahaha Right now I'm martini with big fat olive for breakfast !! Shaken, not stirred. Better than плацкарт :) Maybe pancakes later. Maybe not because I flunked my physical on Monday.

Can I change my expat.ru user name to "FatRobert"

FatAndy

Olives and martini, aha... you go right direction. Only one thing left - to change that vermut to salo, and you'll have classic breakfast of bindyuzhnik in Odessa - vodla, salo and olives.
Pancakes with smetana (sour cream), sturgeon's or salmon's caviar also will be nice.

You may reregister under the new name and we'll kill "robertmf" account upon your request.

:) I'll keep "robertmf" and eat rabbit food carrots for a while :( I don't need a doctor for a physical. I have PA (Physician's Assistant) which is inbetween nurse and doctor.

They are all бабушка mentality and like to give lectures and command. All the statistics they say are for 22 year olds.

I'll fry some perogies w/ onions instead of the pancakes. haha weight loss idea.

I can't believe nobody mentioned Grey Goose? Widely available in the USA and a really good vodka! I drink it even here in Russia..

I'm also a fan of Three Olives.

Russian vodka isn't all that good for the most part...

There are plenty of fruit/berry/chocolate infused vodkas. If you drink any of them, you are not good Russian.

Try mixing with Minute Maid orange juice! Or better Lime!

Just add the same amount of vodka instead of water.:mml:

By tomorrow, I'll update the drunk II thread and be fluent in Rooskie :cheerleader:
