Thanks allice, I wasn't going to admit it, but "safety in numbers" and all that....I bought 4-5 different Abba singles back in the time of vinyl, when they were actually popular, don't remember the names of any of the songs.

Also bought some obscure British band, I think they were called either The Cockroaches....nah, that isn't it...hmmm...The Flies....nope....ahh yes, The Beatles, can you imagine?:D

I can indeed. :D Old girl Mariah was topping the charts when I was 13. ;) So were Boyz II Men.

Although it was their first album without the recently deceased Bon Scott, AC DC's Back in Black is an excellent album, and is nothing to be ashamed of, now is it?

13-11-2003, 18:43
I'm actually not ashamed of any music I've ever bought. I never did fall into that heavy-metal-hair-band-glam-rock business (Cinderella, Poison et. al.) - NEVER found any of Frampton's work worth buying (and I won't argue this point) - NEVER found any of the early boy bands' dung (New Kids et. al.) worth anything, although B-street is tolerable (I wrote TOLERABLE).

However, if anyone actually BOUGHT that Kajagoogoo one-hit-wonder single, well, you must be sterilized and not permitted to have any children. Singing to it when it's played is one thing; buying it was something else.

Michael Jackson - Thriller

P.S. I've heard that my husband was big into Kajagoogo - is this a good enough reason for a divorce??!! - only joking! (I think...!) Re. children: it's too late, as we already have one - but I'll monitor his progress and try to suppress that particular gene...!

Adam and the Ants is embarrasing? What about Dirk wears white socks? Way cool album.

rosieredwood so you never bought a dodgy Vinyl years ago.............. shame on you!

I'm not saying I didn't hum/sing along with some of those now-considered-dreadful tunes, I just realized that it wasn't worth the money to BUY them.

I was given, as an unsolicited Christmas gift, a Pat Benatar disc. Needless to say, it quickly was converted into a drink coaster stand.

Sure, I bought the Fixx, FGTH, the J. Geils Band etc. on tape, but the music isn't anything like having bought Tiffany or Rick Astley or any of the aforementioned hair-bands' music:eek:

Single ? Doctor Feelgood - "Milk and Alcohol" - still love it.

First album - Hawkwind, PXR5 - with the illegal cover. Ditto. ;-))
