Well....almost.

Sailing ships from the annual Tall Ships Race visited Stornoway this weekend, and one of them was STS Мир. Unfortunately, they didn't unfurl their sails....

Some of the crew were wandering around town - and we don't have any immigration control......

I like it that you put this under the heading of Art and Culture.:) Beautiful photograph of ship at sea. Is there a lighthouse where you live?

Is there a lighthouse where you live?

Three nearby. And many more around the island.

Dar Mlodziezy is a sister-ship of the Mir, both built at the Lenin Shipyard in Gdansk.

He has other books about the sea. The Captain Grant's Children, Dick Sand the Boy Captain and the Mysterious Island. Was an incredibly popular author when I was a child, I suspect more popular than in his own country. There are a lot of movies made based on his books in our country too. Am I in now for the sea adventure?
